📢 Important Update for Employment Agencies and Employers in the Construction, Marine Shipyard, and Process (CMP) Sectors
Starting 1 August 2025, Non-Malaysian Work Permit holders in the CMP sectors returning to Singapore within two years of their last employment will benefit from a shortened Onboard programme—reduced from 3 days to 2.
🔍 Why the change?
This enhancement stems from the Singapore Government’s acceptance of recommendations by the Alliance for Action (AfA) for Business Competitiveness to streamline onboarding for returning workers. As these workers are likely still familiar with Singapore’s core settling-in information, the Settling-in Programme (SIP) will no longer be required for this group.
✅ What stays?
They will still undergo medical examinations, ensuring health and safety standards remain uncompromised.
